The next phase of rebranding focuses on creating and distributing thousands of badges for employees, physicians, volunteers and all others across Yale New Haven Health System.
This phased-in process will begin in the Bridgeport area in mid-August, followed by the New Haven delivery network later this fall and Greenwich next year. Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) and Health Services Corporation (HSC) staff will get new badges based on their geographic locations.
The information displayed on each badge, as well as the badge design, has been standardized across the system to reinforce the new Yale New Haven Health brand and fulfill all regulatory obligations.
What is particularly important to know?
- The Protective Services Department/Photo ID office in each delivery network is creating a specific re-badging schedule to ensure a smooth transition to the new badges. Specific schedules will be communicated in each delivery network. Please do not go to Photo ID until you have been instructed to do so.
- An employee who uses a first name which is different from the first name that appears on his or her paystub must go into Employee Self Service and submit that name in order for it to appear on the ID badge. Managers will have to confirm/approve all submissions. Specific details about using ESS for this purpose will be communicated. The same is true for employees whose first names are longer than 15 characters.
A comprehensive ID badge information sheet will be distributed via email and posted on the intranets and the YNHHS Brand Center (on the employee intranets, under "references"). Please review this document carefully for specifics on credentials, colors, badge components and other details.
