First phase of upgrade for patient TVs begins at SRC

A new patient television system being implemented at YNHH will enhance patient engagement and improve patient satisfaction by providing a variety of custom programming. The first phase of the system focuses on upgrading existing TVs and the TV network. Once the process is complete, patients and families will have new pillow speakers and access to 72 high-definition channels, including an interactive program guide, movies on demand and relaxation programming. Activation of the new system began on the Saint Raphael Campus July 18 and will continue throughout August. Work will begin on the York Street Campus later this year. Patient Experience and Information Technology Services are jointly overseeing the project.

Shawl donations requested

The Mutual Respect Committee is asking people who knit or crochet to create shawls or blankets for YNHH adult patients. Employees may also donate shawls, blankets or throws as well as skeins of yarn for knitters. All materials created or donated should be new and nonwool. Employees may drop donations at the Volunteer Services offices at either campus: East Pavilion, YSC, or Main 138, SRC. For information, call Sarah Blum, 203-789-2345, or Sheryl Sobolewski, YSC, 203-688-7456.
