On Aug. 21, parts of the United States will be able to view a total eclipse of the sun for the first time since 1979. Almost a century ago, on Jan. 24, 1925, physicians, nurses and staff gathered on the roof of the Sterling Hall of Medicine to watch as the moon passed between the Earth and the sun. The photo of the 1925 total solar eclipse was taken from the roof of the Boardman building on Cedar Street.
