Guests at a Sept. 9 reception at the McGivney Cancer Center at the Saint Raphael Campus included (l-r): Arthur Lemay, executive director, Smilow Cancer Network; Joseph Cardinale, MD; and Abe Lopman, senior vice president, Operations and executive director, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven. The event was held to celebrate the physicians and staff who have served patients over the years and the history of cancer services that began at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in 1955. This summer, outpatient cancer services began moving to the main Smilow campus on Park Street and other Smilow Cancer Care Centers. The moves will provide patients enhanced access to comprehensive oncology services and increased ability for physician collaboration between multidisciplinary programs and specialty services.
