When artist Henri Matisse became unable to paint in the late 1940s, he began creating art with cut paper. Local artist Noel Sardalla brought this art form to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, working with patients, families, friends, staff and volunteers to create the new "Dream Cloud" exhibit now hanging in the Smilow lobby. Project participants used cut-outs to create the more than 700, 4x4 inch squares in the display. "Dream Cloud" is a Smilow Complementary Services' Art Expression collaborative.
