YNHH names Magnet Nurse of the Year

Congratulations to Erica LaBella, RN, Urology Clinic, who was recently named Yale New Haven Hospital’s 2020 Magnet Nurse of the Year for her outstanding contributions to nursing. LaBella, who chairs YNHH’s Nursing Professional Governance Coordinating Council, recently used technology to provide a resource for communication, best practices and nursing innovations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This resource allowed nurses throughout Yale New Haven Health System to share information and access real-time nursing resources on practice and personal protective equipment. Ena Williams, RN, YNHH chief nursing officer, presented the Magnet Nurse of the Year award in the Urology Clinic, surrounded by LaBella’s co-workers. LaBella is now YNHH’s nominee for the National Magnet Nurse of the Year award, to be presented by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in spring 2021.
