Casey Davis, RN
General Medicine (SLA 4)
A patient on two occasions let Davis’ managers know how compassionate and responsive she was to his concern about maintaining a strict home medications schedule. The patient said Davis administered his medications like clockwork and made him feel like her only patient. Davis also educated the patient and his wife about the plan of care so they were informed and prepared for discharge.
Patricia Roberts
Bariatric/General Surgery (EP 6-5)
Roberts, patient care associate, knows it’s often the simple things that make a difference. One of her patients, who had no family or friends in the area, said she wished she were well enough to wash out some of her clothes. Roberts decided she could help by taking the clothes to the laundromat the next day, her day off. Roberts didn’t think the act of kindness was out of the ordinary, but the impact on the patient was huge.
