The award was presented to the many employees and departments who rallied quickly to support a family that experienced a tragic event. The Emergency Department made the bereavement room available; Protective Services escorted the parents and other personnel to the bereavement room; and Social Work and the chaplain provided support to the family and staff. Child Life staff members were integral in organizing services with urgency, ensuring compassionate post-mortem care and providing the calmest, best space for the parents to be with their child.
