Lots of workplaces hold Take Your Child To Work Day events, but on April 23, about 150 children of Yale New Haven Hospital employees got to visit some of the many different people and departments that make a hospital run. The children visited areas at both campuses, including the Operating Rooms, Laboratory Medicine, the Heart and Vascular Center, Food and Nutrition Services, Child Life, Respiratory Therapy and Protective Services. Some children were able to check out the SkyHealth air ambulance helicopter on the helipad at the YSC West Pavilion.
In 2013, YNHHS introduced the Know Your Numbers employee wellness program to help employees heighten their health awareness and earn credit toward the cost of their medical benefits. This year's program has exciting new elements and continues to offer a reward of up to $500 credit toward the cost of participating employees' 2016 YNHHS medical premium. Employees enrolled in a YNHHS medical plan and those eligible to enroll for benefits may participate.
