Medical ICUs earn prestigious national award for second time

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) recently announced that the Medical Intensive Care Units at both Yale New Haven Hospital campuses have earned Silver Beacon Awards for Excellence for the second time. The units first earned Silver Beacon Awards in 2019.

The award recognizes units that use evidence-based practices to improve patient and family outcomes and meet AACN’s healthy work environment standards.

Hospital leaders joined unit staff to celebrate the award at ceremonies on April 17.
