The New Haven WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program, including the two Yale New Haven Hospital offices, has earned a 2021 Gold WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence from the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s Northeast Regional office. The award is given annually to local WIC agencies to recognize exemplary breastfeeding education and support activities. YNHH efforts include a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program. YNHH’s WIC offices are at the Saint Raphael Campus, 1401 Chapel St., and at 150 Sargent Drive.
