These employees received PEACE (Patient Experience Award for Caring and Excellence) recognition for going above and beyond to meet patients’ and families’ needs.
Staff from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit were honored for exceptional and compassionate care of several pediatric oncology patients who recently passed away. The team was praised for consistently providing support and empathy to family members and helping them navigate through their grief.
Samantha Naclerio, patient financial access specialist, was honored for going above and beyond for a patient who did not have appropriate transportation home after a lengthy medical procedure. Naclerio was concerned about the welfare of the patient, who has a history of traumatic brain injury. She explored various transportation options before escalating the situation to Social Work, which arranged a free taxi service to get the patient home safely.
