Matthew Bizzarro, MD, has been named chief medical officer, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. Dr. Bizzarro is also a professor of pediatrics and vice chair of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Pediatrics, Yale School of Medicine (YSM). He was previously medical director of the YNHCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and NICU Transport Team and director of the Pediatric Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program. He was also medical director of the Yale NICU Network. Dr. Bizzarro earned his MD from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School; completed his residency at New York University School of Medicine; and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at YSM. Clifford Bogue, MD, the first chief medical officer of YNHCH, will continue as chair of Pediatrics at YSM and chief of Pediatrics, Yale New Haven Health System.
