Extraordinary people work throughout Yale New Haven Hospital.
On five occasions over the last decade, hospital employees chose their colleagues who best exemplified the ideals of the Yale New Haven Hospital pledge that guides employees in their daily work lives. It's time for employees to nominate colleagues for the sixth class of YNHH Heroes.
"Our Heroes set a powerful example for all of us on how we should treat our patients, their families, our visitors and each other," said Richard D'Aquila, president. "Employees are invited to nominate those who truly live Yale New Haven's values every day they come to work."
The YNHH pledge, Enhancing the Patient Experience, is the gold standard for nominating employees for this honor, and nominees should exceed its ideals, which include:
- Creating a great first impression
- Protecting patients' privacy
- Valuing diversity and treating all people with respect
- Communicating with compassion and courtesy
- Maintaining a safe, quiet and clean environment
- Taking action when things go wrong
