Denine Baxter, Mark Sevilla, Prathibha Varkey



Denine Baxter, RN, MHA, has been named clinical program director, Pediatric Critical Care, Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. She oversees the Pediatric Emergency Department, Critical Care Transport Team, SWAT team, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Surgery Center. She joined Yale New Haven Hospital 26 years ago and has held numerous positions, serving most recently as patient service manager, Pediatric ED, SWAT team and Critical Care Transport Team. Baxter earned her BSN at Southern Connecticut State University and her master's in healthcare administration from the University of New Haven, and she is certified as a nurse manager and leader through the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Mark Sevilla, RN, MSN, has been named executive director for both Behavioral Health and Emergency Services. He joined YNHH in 2012 as interim director of the Adult Emergency Department, was later named clinical director of the department and served most recently as director of Emergency Services for the hospital. He earned his nursing degree at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo, CA, his BSN at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and his MSN from the University of California in Los Angeles.

Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, has been named senior vice president, YNHHS, and president & CEO, Northeast Medical Group. She was previously president and CEO of the Clinical Enterprise, a multispecialty group at Seton Family Healthcare, Austin, TX. She is an adjunct professor of medicine and adjunct professor of preventive medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, MN. Dr. Varkey earned her MBBS (MD equivalent) from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, and completed her internal medicine residency at the Hospital of Saint Raphael and a preventive medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic. She has a master's in public health from Harvard School of Public Health and a master's in health professions education from the University of Illinois. She also earned her MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
