On May 3, Yale New Haven Health System opened the new Park Avenue Medical Center (PAMC) in Trumbull, which includes a large Smilow Cancer Hospital presence.

The three-story, 100,000-square-foot center at 5520 Park Ave. also includes new and existing services from Bridgeport Hospital and Northeast Medical Group. Nearly 90 new permanent jobs have been added at the site, bringing the total to almost 200.

"This is an exciting and historic day," Marna Borgstrom, president and CEO, YNHHS, told more than 300 people at the opening ceremony. "I'm proud of the wide spectrum of care that will be offered at Park Avenue Medical Center, thanks to the collaboration of our system entities."

Conveniently located off the Merritt Parkway exit 47, PAMC features a wide range of healthcare services for children and adults, including outpatient surgery, cancer care, pediatric specialty, endoscopy, gastroenterology, reproductive endocrinology, rheumatology, urology and primary care. Blood draw, radiology, and physical, occupational and speech therapy are also available.
