Notes at Noon, the annual summer music concert series sponsored by the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary, kicks off Friday, July 12. Concerts are noon - 1 pm in the Hunter Courtyard, at the corner of York and Cedar streets (weather permitting). This year’s line-up includes: July 12: Guerra/Morrow Duo, master jazz guitarists; July 19: Thabisa, blend of African soul, jazz and original music; July 26: 102nd Army National Guard Band; Aug. 2: Sambeleza, Brazilian bossa nova jazz; and Aug. 16: Todd Lewis Kramer, folk singer/guitarist. Beginning in August, all employees will be invited to nominate a care associate for YNHH’s new Care Associate Circle of Care Award, which recognizes patient care associates, clinical technicians, emergency department technical associates and technicians, ambulatory care associates and assistants, medical assistants, technical associates, milieu counselors, mental health workers, radiology care assistants and urology technicians. Nominators will be asked to include specific examples of the care associate’s dedication to a patient, commitment to peers, and service to the community. The nomination period will be Aug. 11 - Sept. 7. Check the YNHH intranet in August for award details and a link to the nomination form. Awards will be presented at the annual care associate celebration Sept. 18.
Forbes magazine has named Yale New Haven Health System one of “America’s Best Large Employers” for 2019. The health system is one of 25 companies in the survey’s Healthcare and Social category named to the list. Forbes partnered with online statistics provider Statista to choose 500 companies with more than 5,000 employees from different industries nationwide. Approximately 50,000 workers in those companies were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer to someone else.
