As part of its commitment to fair and market-competitive wages, Yale New Haven Health has brought all eligible employees of Bridgeport (including staff at the newly integrated Milford Campus), Greenwich and Yale New Haven hospitals; the Health Services Corporation; Northeast Medical Group; the Grimes Center; Home Care Plus; and Corporate Professional Business Services to the new hourly minimum wage of $15, effective June 23. The wage adjustment will be reflected in eligible employees’ paychecks scheduled for July 11.
“This increase keeps YNHHS at the forefront of compensation practices, in alignment with our core values,” said YNHHS Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Kevin Myatt. “Although Connecticut will not reach the $15/hour minimum wage until 2023, YNHHS is proud to bring eligible employees to the new minimum immediately. We are delighted to be able to give back to our employees who give so much of themselves to our patients and our organization.”
The adjustment impacts employees whose current hourly wage is below the new $15/hour minimum. If their current hourly wage is between $15 and $15.50/hour, their rate will increase to alleviate salary compression.
