Employees and other members of Yale New Haven’s Heart Walk teams had a great time at the 2017 walk.
Employees are invited to join one of YNHH’s walk teams at the American Heart Association’s 31st Annual Greater New Haven Heart Walk, 9 am Saturday, May 5, Savin Rock, West Haven.
Kick-off meetings for employees interested in leading a team will be noon - 1 pm Monday, March 5, YSC East Pavilion special events area; and noon - 1 pm Thursday, March 8, SRC Selina Lewis multipurpose room. Lunch will be provided. Speakers will be Keith Churchwell, MD, senior vice president, Operations, and executive director, Heart and Vascular Center and Transplantation Center and clinical service coordinator, Internal Medicine; and Francine LoRusso, RN, vice president, Heart and Vascular Center, Transplantation Center and Medicine Services.
Yale New Haven Health System is a walk sponsor and, with Yale University and Yale School of Medicine, has set a $70,000 fundraising goal. The event will feature kids’ activities, health screenings and information, healthy snacks and lunch. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. YNHHS participants will each receive a T-shirt.
