Burke, Hennessey, Mendes
Patricia Burke has been named vice president, Human Resources, Yale New Haven Health System. Since joining Yale New Haven Hospital in 1989 as a senior compensation analyst, she has held a number of positions, including interim senior vice president of HR at Greenwich Hospital and executive director of HR for the health system. Her accomplishments include leading staffing consolidation for YNHHS departments such as Information Technology Services, Finance, Legal and Risk Services, Supply Chain Management and HR. She has also supported YNHHS’ growth by planning and implementing the integration of staff from Northeast Medical Group and several corporate entities that joined the health system through affiliations and acquisitions. Burke earned her BA in Psychology at the University of Connecticut.
Darcy Hennessey RN, BSN, has been named patient service manager for the Surgical Services unit (SLA 2). Hennessey joined Yale New Haven Hospital in 1990 on the Trauma Surgery unit (SP 6-4) and became assistant patient service manager in 2012. She has served as interim PSM of SLA 2 since September. Hennessey earned her BS in nursing from Salve Regina University.
Joseph Mendes, PA-C, MS, has been named director for advanced practice providers (APPs), Surgical Services. He joined YNHH in 2002 as a surgical physician assistant in Otolaryngology, and has since served as lead physician assistant, Surgical Subspecialties; clinical manager, Surgical Services; and, most recently, senior manager, APPs, Surgical Services. Mendes earned his BS in respiratory therapy from the University of Hartford and his MS in physician assistant studies from Pacific University in Oregon.
