Safety matters: Ceiling tiles must be intact
Ceiling tiles serve as a protective barrier by resisting the passage of smoke, so they should not be missing or out of place or have holes or cracks. Stained or wet ceiling tiles present an infection control risk because they are a breeding ground for mold, so all ceiling tiles must be dry and free of stains. If you find missing, broken or stained ceiling tiles, contact the Service Response Center, 203-688-9000, or place a work order through FaciliNet. For more information, call Accreditation Safety and Regulatory Affairs (ASRA), 203-688-6374, or contact your ASRA liaison.
