On Nov. 15, a new MRI specifically designed for neonatal brain imaging was delivered to Yale New Haven Children's Hospital’s 10th-floor Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) via crane. The neonatal MRI is one of only two in the U.S. and took years to plan and develop. The MRI is expected to be up and running in YNHCH’s NICU shortly. It will provide faster and safer imaging to better detect and manage brain issues in premature infants. This brand-new technology opens new opportunities for caring for these critically ill newborns with early interventions. It will also help advance important clinical research. Check YNHH’s employee intranet for more photos of the special delivery.
