William Fitzmaurice, president, South Central Regional EMS Council (left), presented the award to Nappe during a Nov. 13 ceremony.
Congratulations to Robert Nappe, advanced life support instructor for Yale New Haven Hospital’s Center for EMS, who received the Connecticut EMS Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award recognizes individuals who have made a lasting impact on emergency medical services in Connecticut, nationally and internationally. In his 40-year career, Nappe has been a police officer, paramedic and teacher/trainer in many different disciplines. He also served on a peacekeeping mission in Iraq. Nappe’s advice to other first responders: “Always remember, we do what we do so that others may live.”
