Ena Williams, RN, Yale New Haven Hospital senior vice president and chief nursing officer, was recently named a Hometown Hero Honoree for the Gateway Community College Foundation’s 23rd Annual Hall of Fame induction. This year’s virtual event recognized honorees’ support of Gateway students, faculty and staff, along with honorees’ response to overwhelming community needs during COVID-19. Since joining YNHH in 1992 as a staff nurse in Perioperative Services, Williams has held a number of leadership positions, becoming chief nursing officer in 2018. She is active in the Southern Connecticut Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association and Gateway Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
