November is Career Development Month, and YNHHS has lots to offer
Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont has designated November Career Development Month, recognizing that the ongoing process of career development, including education and training, is more vital than ever to help all people maximize their potential. Yale New Haven offers a number of professional development opportunities for those who want to become more proficient in their current roles or take on new responsibilities in different roles.
YNHHS’
Institute for Excellence (in network only) provides dynamic learning experiences that develop employee talent, promote leadership and inspire excellence. Offerings include:
- Online resources to help staff explore career interests, develop resumes, choose colleges and research scholarship programs
- Information about upcoming virtual college and training fairs, and an updated list of college and training program resources that includes contact information and links to webinars for local colleges
Other resources include
Bright Horizons, a YNHHS benefits partner. Bright Horizons offers Ed Assist Solutions, whose educational and financial coaches can help employees identify schools offering programs of interest (including tuition reimbursement and the direct bill program).
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, with the support of the YNHH/Grimes DEI Council, have video recordings of their Career Exploration Series presentations on the
employee intranet (in network). For more information on YNHHS career development programs, visit the
IFE and
HRConnect on the employee intranet.
