Back-Up family care from Bright Horizons

Sometimes life throws us a curve ball. Your regular caregiver is sick; schools close unexpectedly; an aging relative needs help for the day. You need to find care for a loved one at the last minute.

New this year, Yale New Haven Health is partnering with Bright Horizons to offer Back-Up child- and elder-care services. The program is available for benefits-eligible employees when regular care arrangements fall through.

Bright Horizons will help you find trusted, temporary child care from an extensive network of fully vetted providers, including high-quality childcare centers, in-home caregiver teams and summer camp and school-break programs. The network also includes elder- and adult-care agencies.

Get prepared ahead of time by visiting the Bright Horizons site to register and update your family profile. Visit www.clients.brighthorizons.com/ynhhs or call 877-242-2737 (877-BH-CARES). Consultants are available 24/7.

HR Information

Reminder: Record meal breaks on Kronos time clocks

YNHHS non-exempt employees must record their meal breaks at the Kronos time clock when swiping out at the end of their work shift. Alternatively, employees can use PC swipe to clock in or out at a YNHHS computer in their work area.

When recording your meal break, please be sure you are choosing the correct time. If your break was in the afternoon, choose pm, for example 12 - 12:30 pm.

Non-exempt employees who use Teletime will need to record their meal breaks using a Kronos time clock or PC-swipe. Non-exempt employees such as Health at Home staff who work in the field without access to time clocks or PC-swipe will continue to use Teletime.
