Free nursing certification preparation e-courses available

YNHHS nurses can now access free, on-demand e-courses to prepare for certification in a variety of specialties. The Nurse Builders courses include videos, PDFs and quizzes featuring evidence-based content tailored to various nursing certifications. Nurses completing the e-courses will receive American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) contact hours with PDF certificates. To enroll, visit https://learn.nursebuilders.net/yalenhhcertyr1dec24-25.

IFE employee classes available

The Institute for Excellence (IFE) employee education schedule is now available and includes five categories of virtual courses:

  • LEAD Leadership Academy
  • Elective Leadership Academy
  • Workplace Skills
  • Leadership Skill Builder
  • Performance Improvement

Some, like the LEAD Leadership Academy, are for only management roles; others, like Workplace Skills courses, are for only non-leadership roles. Performance Improvement courses are open to all.

In-person learning classes are scheduled January - October in New Haven, Bridgeport, Greenwich and New London.

Stop the bleed, save a life

Employees are invited to take a free Stop the Bleed class from the Center for Injury and Violence Prevention, Center for EMS and Center for Emergency Management. Bleeding is the number one preventable cause of death among injured patients. Learn the skills to help. The in-person class is offered every month; the next class is Thursday, Feb. 6, 2-3:30 pm, YNHH York Street Campus.
