Nurses: Join a Research and EBP Committee

Nurses are invited to join a Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Committee at their delivery network. Visit the employee intranet to apply. Benefits include networking with nursing research and EBP experts; developing professional skills in research, EBP, abstracts, posters, publications and more; contributing new knowledge in nursing; and staying up to date with YNHHS nurse-led research and EBP initiatives.

February American Heart Month activities scheduled

Yale New Haven Health will offer plenty of information during American Heart Month in February.

  • By Feb. 1, YNHHS’ American Heart Month webpages at ynhhs.org/smarthearts will feature articles and videos on topics such as open-heart surgery recovery, heart disease signs, heart attacks and women, maternal heart health and more.
  • On National Wear Red Day 2025, Friday, Feb. 7, all are encouraged to wear at least a touch of red (health system and department policies on attire and standards of appearance apply). YNHHS’ social media pages will include employee photos; heart health information will also be posted throughout February.
  • The 2025 Greater New Haven Go Red for Women® event will be 5:30 - 8 pm Wednesday, Feb. 5, Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale, 155 Temple St. It will feature refreshments, a silent auction, keynote speaker and fundraising appeal. Event chair is Joyce Oen-Hsiao, MD, director of Cardiac Rehabilitation, YNHHS HVC, and associate professor of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine. Visit www.heart.org/gorednewhaven for information.

Join the EMPOWER Women & Allies Affinity Group

Want to connect with a network that supports and uplifts women at Yale New Haven Health? Join EMPOWER, a new Affinity Group for women and allies across YNHHS. Part of a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiative, Affinity Groups are employee-led networks that unite individuals based on shared characteristics, identities or experiences to advance inclusion and a sense of belonging. EMPOWER (Engage, Mentor, Partner, Optimize, Women’s Excellence and Resilience) activities will include webinars, group meetings and special events on well-being, career development and community engagement.
