NEMG recognizes Community Outreach Committee member

Michelle Maldonado

Michelle Maldonado, a medical assistant (MA), has been with YNHHS since 2000, and a COC member for the past two years. Of the numerous programs she’s volunteered her time to, her favorites are Toys for Tots, Trees of Hope and the Diaper Drive.

“The most rewarding part of being involved with community outreach is lending a helping hand to those within the community, and the feeling after each event knowing I made a difference,” she said.

Maldonado is also very involved in the Employee Engagement Committee at 4A Devine St., helping to organize monthly events, said Sabrina Sgambati, preventive health coordinator.

“Since my time as the Community Outreach lead for the New Haven region, Michelle has always been someone I can count on to assist in any initiative,” Sgambati said. “Michelle is hardworking and kindhearted, and someone I often lean on. Without prompt, she is someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand while often donating time and items to various events.”

The COC is instrumental in carrying out NEMG’s mission to help the communities we serve. For information or to join, contact Robert Mitchell, manager of Practice Operations, 203-384-5109. Watch for more information on committee initiatives.
