Yale New Haven Health’s Kyle L. Ballou, Esq., vice president, Community and Government Relations; Paul Mounds, Jr., vice president, Community and Corporate Alliances; and Pamela Sutton-Wallace, MPH, president, are among the 2024 Connecticut State NAACP 100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut. The awards, presented at a June 29 ceremony, celebrate renowned influencers, recognize community leaders and honor industry trailblazers for their exceptional contributions to the community. Awardees include civic leaders, government officials, educators, politicians, civil rights activists, commissioners, business leaders and entertainment industry influencers.
L+M Hospital has appointed Sarah Cross, MD, as chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is an associate professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Cross specializes in maternal-fetal medicine, or high-risk pregnancies. She is especially interested in periviability, which is the cusp of neonatal viability – usually 22 to 23 weeks – and counseling patients who encounter issues at this stage of pregnancy. Dr. Cross received her MD with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship at Yale School of Medicine.
