On July 23, the Greenwich Hospital Champions of Wellness Committee celebrated its relaunch by arriving at the hospital’s staff entrance at 6:30 am to greet employees beginning their shifts and send off those who worked overnight.
The Champions of Wellness Committee was established to promote health and well-being for all Greenwich Hospital employees. It’s a resource for inspired change and a platform for employee input.
Committee members passed out fruit to encourage employees to kickstart their day with healthy snacks. Employees also received a piece of paper and a question, “What matters to you?” Their answers were placed into a suggestion box. Every month, the committee will ask a different question, share the findings and take action when appropriate.
“We relaunched the Wellness Committee under the new name ‘Champions of Wellness’ to show employees that we’re not just listening to their ideas; we’re taking steps towards implementing them,” said Anna Cerra, RN, DNP, chief nursing officer. “We are here to support and advocate for employees at all levels.”
