With cold and flu season on the way, YNHHS will soon launch its annual flu vaccination program to help protect employees and keep patients and families safe.
Beginning in early October, when seasonal flu activity generally begins, YNHHS will provide vaccinations to employees. Onsite vaccinations will begin throughout the health system the week of Oct. 7. The deadline for vaccination is Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024.
As a condition of continued employment, physicians and employees, including those working remotely, must be vaccinated annually or provide an approved medical or religious exemption. Employees at Lawrence + Memorial and Westerly hospitals and staff at the VNA of Southeastern CT must receive a flu vaccination or complete a declination form.
Appointments are required for vaccination:
Volunteers, students, travelers, vendors and non-employed licensed independent practitioners may schedule an appointment through ynhhs.org/GetVaccinated, or by visiting https://fluvaccination.ynhh.org/.
As an alternative to the onsite vaccinations, employees may get vaccinated by their primary care physician, at a YNHHS outpatient pharmacy or participating retail pharmacy in the CVS Caremark vaccination network or at a CVS Minute Clinic. Employees enrolled in a YNHHS medical plan will have their copay waived if they get vaccinated at one of these participating retail pharmacies after Sept. 1. Those who get vaccinated at a CVS MinuteClinic must present their Cigna insurance card to have their copay waived.
Additional details about vaccination options, including how to submit documentation of vaccination by a primary care provider or participating pharmacy, as well as declination forms, are available on Infor; Employee Health; Flu Validation/Exemption.
All employees are also required to complete the online flu module on the Infor Learning Management System by Dec. 1. This includes employees who have declined the vaccination and those who work remotely.
