“When I hear the question ‘Why a career in health care?’ my immediate thought is my father. He has worked for L+M Hospital for over 30 years and has been a role model to me. Growing up, I would visit him at work and always felt like the hospital was where I wanted to be. My father, along with his Facilities and Security co-workers, the nurses and all the other staff I would encounter at L+M, were individuals I looked up to and strove to be like. Today, I am both grateful and proud to say that Yale New Haven Health and Northeast Medical Group are where I have spent my entire career in health care. I started out as an MA extern student, then a referral coordinator, and ultimately achieved my goal of becoming a practice supervisor, thanks to some amazing mentors and deeply valued relationships I built within this company along the way. ‘Why health care?’ The people – the patients, their families and all the amazing individuals we have here at YNHHS.”
