Congratulations to the Burn Center on joining the 1,000 Day Club for going 1,000 days without a catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI). CAUTIs are one of the most common healthcare-associated infections, often leading to increased hospital days, patient discomfort and higher costs. Preventing these infections requires strict adherence to evidence-based practices, continuous staff education and a culture of accountability. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication, vigilance and teamwork of our burn nurses, physicians and healthcare professionals, all of whom prioritize patient safety and infection prevention every day,” said Anne Aquila, RN, director of Wounds and Critical Care.
