There’s still time to go to https://ynhhs.org/givehealthy and donate to Yale New Haven Health’s online #GiveHealthy food drive. The drive, which ends March 31, supports hunger-relief organizations in the communities YNHHS serves. #GiveHealthy provides an online platform for hunger-relief organizations to set up “registries” listing items they need so you can choose the items you wish to purchase for a particular organization. Because the food donated through YNHHS’ #GiveHealthy drive will ship from suppliers directly to hunger-relief organizations, you will be able to purchase healthy food items, including fresh produce. Thank you to everyone who has supported the drive so far.
Yale New Haven Health now bans the storage or use of battery-powered micro-mobility devices inside all leased or owned YNHHS facilities due to a potential fire hazard. These devices include e-bikes, hoverboards, electric skateboards and e-scooters. These devices cannot be charged on any YNHHS property. The new policy is based on a report from the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission which found an increase in fires associated with micro-mobility scooters. Micro-mobility devices may be stored in designated bicycle storage areas and may only be locked to bicycle racks (not to signposts, trees, railings or anything not designed for a bicycle). The policy does not apply to electric devices for those with mobility-related disabilities, such as electric wheelchairs. For more information, review the policy https://ynhh.ellucid.com/documents/view/38181.
Forbes Magazine named Yale New Haven Health as one of the Top 500 Best Large Employers in the nation in its “America’s Best Large Employers” and “America’s Best Midsize Employers” rankings. The rankings are based primarily on survey responses from more than 217,000 employees working at U.S. companies with more than 1,000 people. According to Forbes, research has shown that employees are consistent when asked what they care about most in an employer, citing compensation, employee development and advancement opportunities, meaningful work, supportive colleagues and workplace well-being and flexibility.
