Micro Market opens on Milford Campus

The new Micro Market at the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus offers food and beverages 24/7. Customers pay at kiosks using a credit card, Apple Pay, payroll deduction or a prepaid plan.

Staff, patients and visitors have a new option for food and beverages at Bridgeport Hospital’s Milford Campus. The Micro Market offers grab-and-go items such as prepared salads, sandwiches, yogurt parfaits and baked goods. Grilled-to-order items are also available Monday through Friday, 7 - 10 am and 11 am - 1:30 pm. Starbucks coffee, hot chocolate and Teavana tea are brewed to order.

The Micro Market, which replaces the cafeteria, is available 24/7. Payment may be made with credit card, Apple Pay, payroll deduction or a prepaid plan. Employees must swipe their ID badges to access the Micro Market after visiting hours end at 8 pm.

Similar to those at other Yale New Haven Health delivery networks, the Micro Market was installed in response to employees’ requests for expanded access to food, particularly during night and weekend shifts.

“We heard our employees loud and clear,” said Dan Walsh, vice president of Support Services and Facilities. “Employees can now grab nutritious snacks and meals at their convenience, and we look forward to seeing how it will enhance employee well-being on our Milford Campus.”

Plans are underway on the Bridgeport Campus to renovate Jazzman’s and Pandini’s in the lobby cafe and open a Micro Market later this year.
