Kara Burdick, RN, nurse manager for Northwest 7 (NW7), won the DAISY Nurse Leader Award for leaders who inspire and uplift their teams and patients alike and provide a compassionate environment.
Burdick’s nominator called her a “quintessential team leader” who brings knowledge and enthusiasm to her role.
“She is extremely courteous and patient-centric, treating everyone with respect, dignity and compassion,” the nomination reads. “She cares about both her day and night teams tremendously and is willing to go the extra mile for patients, staff and administrators. She is always approachable even during periods of high stress and puts patients first.”
