Yale New Haven Hospital recognized 30 recent graduates of YNHHS’ Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician Registered Apprenticeship Program at a May 29 ceremony.
The year-long, paid apprenticeship provides classroom instruction and on-the-job training and mentoring to current PCAs and clinical technicians, along with people from the community who have a CNA (certified nursing assistant) certificate.
With help from the Connecticut Department of Labor and a $10 million federal grant, the Yale New Haven Health program aims to train 1,250 PCAs/PCTs over the next few years. To learn more, check out the video in the Support Roles section, or email [email protected].
