We’re getting Closer to Free – Thanks to these employees

Rider Erika Soto

Every year, hundreds of Yale New Haven employees participate in the Closer to Free (CTF) ride to support Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Meet some of these inspiring employees; and consider joining them for the Sept. 7 CTF event as a rider, volunteer or supporter. All YNHHS employee riders pay a registration fee of just $50 for adults and $25 for students/youth (a 50 percent discount). Use the code EMPLOYEE24 and provide your employee ID number at registration. Register and learn more at rideclosertofree.org.

WHY I RIDE: ERIKA SOTO

QSight inventory specialist, Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology, Bridgeport Hospital

This is my 12th year participating in the Closer to Free ride. I love this event because cancer affects so many people, including my family, and I can do my part to help raise money for this great cause. I ride for those who no longer can, for those who continue to fight. One of my favorite parts of the ride is the overall atmosphere, being part of something that is greater than you. It is truly moving.
